Several Team Tornado wrestlers right across the stateline in Virginia are preaparing for their state tournaments after successful region performances, wrestlers include:

Ty Boyd 106 Rural Retreat 3rd in Region (ranked 8th in state)

TJ Mitchell 113 Rural Retreat 1st in Region with pin over Defending State Champ

Will Jenkins 132 Abingdon 2nd in Region AA

Travis Anderson 152 Rural Retreat 1st in Region (ranked #2 in State)

Cole Lowe 152 Holston 2nd in Region

Trey Boyd and Jacob Wynn have also been dominating at the middle school level and our expected to be state champions this year.

Our first 2012 Team Tornado Practice will be Sunday March 18th at 2pm in the King College Wrestling Room (I will be there at 1 pm to start registration and answer any questions). Our practice schedule will then be:

Sunday 2-4 PM
Tuesday 6-8 PM
Thursday 6-8 PM

Many have had issues with Mondays, so we are going to attempt to have a practice in between Church on Sunday’s and see if more people are able to make it. If most of our guys travel to a tournament on Saturday later in the season, we will most likely take the following Sunday off.

Six Region 1 Champions and 8 finalists were crowned between Team Tornado wrestlers this weekend. Congrats to all of these fine young men for their hard work and good luck at state!
